Grove City HUD Homes on a Halloween Weekend
Written by Susanne Novak on November 1, 2009 – 8:54 am -I hope you had a wonderful and haunted Halloween Saturday. Probably the largest Columbus Halloween party took place in the Short North. It’s called the HighBall Halloween and brings together thousands of Columbus residents in every costume imaginable. The event presented designer fashion shows featuring 2 Project Runway contestants and, of course, a costume competition. If you missed it this year, then put it on your calendar for next Halloween.
Getting back to Columbus HUD Homes, I decided to feature 3 Columbus houses in the southwest. Grove City has been “haunted” by large numbers of HUD home listing during the past year. However, the majority of Grove City HUD homes are in newer subdivisions, less than 10 years old. These are great opportunities for first time buyers and young families.

Affordable HUD Homes in Suburban School Districts

Two of these homes are serviced by Westerville Schools and are very affordable for the area, albeit they are older homes. The Reynoldsburg house on the other hand is only a few years old and very spacious.
As a bonus I added the Grove City ranch I mentioned on Friday. It’s listed for less than $50K in an area where the typical home sells for $95,000. You really need to take a look at our exclusive pictures – the paint job in the bedrooms and bathrooms is unique.

Why You Must Close on your HUD Home before December
Written by Susanne Novak on August 23, 2009 – 1:52 pm -The beginning of a new school year! Everyone I talk to is excited and busy to get the kids ready for school.
As for my “kids”, they are all in college. My middle son already started classes last week, the other two will follow soon. This is the first year my husband and I will feel like empty nesters.
So, let’s see what’s going on in real estate this week. You may have heard that the sale of existing homes increased by 7% in July nationwide. I believe it is a clear sign that the real estate market is picking up and you will see more Columbus houses sell in the second half of 2009.
Don’t panic. I still can help you find a wonderful Columbus HUD home or get a great deal on most of the property listings in Central Ohio.
Here are two reasons why now is the best time of your life to buy a home:
- The $8,000 tax credit for first time buyers will expire at the end of November 2009. If you don’t close before December 1st, you are throwing $8K out of the window.
- The federal government is accumulating lots of debt. Experts predict that this will lead to an increase in inflation and much higher interest rates. It is very likely that interest rates will go up over the next 12 months, which means you may have to settle for a less expensive house.
